Background

When MultiCare Health System decided to consolidate cardiovascular care and services into a new Chest, Heart and Vascular Institute, they engaged Stoke to assist with the transition. The new physician-led organization would offer a seamless, comprehensive range of care in both adult inpatient and outpatient settings, helping MultiCare realize its vision of becoming a national destination center for cardiac, thoracic and vascular care.

Challenge

Pulse Heart Institute represented a new model of care delivery, combining the expertise and resources of Cardiac Study Center and MultiCare Health System. The new organization’s objective was to expand access to excellent heart and vascular care and services while also managing operating costs through consolidation. In addition, as part of a large, multi-entity health system, the institute needed to communicate a message of modern, coordinated care – aligning the physical, clinical, technological and financial assets of the community to create a unified experience for patients and their providers.

Stoke conducted a competitive audit and in-depth research with multiple stakeholders to identify challenges and opportunities for positioning the institute in the very challenging and competitive Pacific Northwest health care market.

Outcome

Working together with MultiCare executives and cardiac physician leaders, Stoke identified a unique brand position and messaging centered around the idea of “Practicing Partnership.” This supported the organization’s business and brand strategy of advancing access, efficiency, outcomes, and innovation to create a foundation of greater health for patients, providers and the community. Stoke also developed the new name, Pulse Heart Institute, and a visual identity system that reflected the organization’s contemporary, integrated approach to cardiac health and treatment. The visual identity was applied to the website, built environments, printed materials and more.

“Amazing job capturing the vision of the team. Thank you for all of your great work and partnership!”
