Background

FirstService is a diversified leader in the real estate services sector. A Toronto-based corporation, its real estate brands generate over $2.0 billion (US) in annualized revenues with more than 18,000 employees worldwide. The commercial real estate division, FirstService Real Estate Advisors (FirstService REA) has become the 4th-largest real estate services firm in the world by strategically integrating industry leading service providers in key areas of specialization.

Challenge

FirstService was rapidly growing, acquiring variously named brokerages and specialty service providers in markets across the U.S. FirstService needed to create economies of scope – serving more clients, in more places, in more ways – through the integration of these services. They also needed to create economies of scale, with a brand identity and market presence that was greater than the sum of its individual business units.

Outcome

Stoke developed a strategic brand position, brand management plan and comprehensive design system for FirstService REA. A brand launch included a new logo for FirstService REA and its affiliates. A visual identity system was implemented across business papers, comprehensive marketing collateral, a global advertising campaign, office interior design, way-finding and exterior signage, and several websites.
